Frequently Asked Questions

Wes Solutions is committed to creating clean, healthy and disinfected environments for you to work or live in. Explore some of our most frequently asked questions below.

Ozone is very safe when handled properly.  If exposed to high levels without proper equipment, Ozone can be harmful to your health.  That is why you should trust our knowledgeable and trained techs to properly setup and distribute Ozone and calculate run-times and dissipation times for Ozone.  Once the Ozone treatment is finished, we will test the air based on OSHA guidelines for safe re-entry back into your dwelling.

Yes, Ozone has been proven to oxidize organic odors.  Organic odors come from pets, dead animals, cooking, smoking, biological waste, post fires, and more. Ozone will oxidize and destroy the odor at its source.  In most instances, especially when the source of the odor has been removed, the area needs to be treated only once to eliminate odors.  In some instances, like when an animal has died in the wall and you cannot remove the source of the odor or when there have been years of build up from cigarette smoke, additional treatments may be needed (but not always).

Covid-19 is a disease and therefore cannot be “killed.” However, the U.S. Army Public Heath Center has stated ozone can be used to disinfect areas such as rooms, vehicles and buildings for coronaviruses.  The EPA has approved Vital Oxide for use against SARS-CoV2, the coronavirus that causes the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Ozone kills or destroys viruses, bacteria, mildew, mold, allergens, harmful gases such as formaldehyde, and organic odors from pets, cooking, smoking, biological, post fires and more. Ozone distributes through the air and can treat an entire room or building. Anywhere air can get, Ozone can get.

Ozone can be applied to any unoccupied space.  Examples include buildings, homes, specific rooms, apartments, vehicles, bars, restaurants, schools, buses, locker rooms, gyms, sports centers, daycare centers, crime scenes, warehouses, shipping containers, etc.

Yes, you and your pets (plants are ok to stay) need to leave the treatment area but only for about 20 minutes.  When we use Vital Oxide in our Electrostatic Sprayers, we create a fine mist that needs to settle before re-entry.

In most instances, you do not need to do any special cleaning before our techs arrive. However, all of our treatments work on the surface and therefore surfaces should be cleaned in general. Ozone works on the surface, it will not penetrate a wall or door.  So if you would like, you can open kitchen cabinets, closet doors, etc.  Ozone is also more potent in cooler, less humid air.  We recommend turning your air conditioning on and leaving it on a few degrees lower than you normally keep your building for best results. Also, if you have a dehumidifier, it is recommended to run your dehumidifier for a few hours prior to our techs arriving for best results, however this is not a necessity. If we are coming to treat an odor, you should remove the source of the odor when possible.  For example, clean the visibly soiled areas, remove a dead rodent, discard flood damaged carpet, etc.  If we are coming because of a mold problem, you should have the mold removed by a licensed mold technician first.  Ozone does kill mold, however it does not remove mold and therefore Ozone should be the “final step” for mold once mold has been remediated by a licensed mold technician.

EPA expects all products on List N to kill the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 when used according to the label directions.  The EPA does not review devices for List N, therefore no device, including our Ozone Generators, can claim to be on List N.

However, Vital Oxide is on the EPA’s List N and is the solution we use in our Electrostatic Sprayers.  Our Electrostatic Sprayers with Vital Oxide can be when you are unable to leave your area for an extended period of time. It can also be used on food prep surfaces (no rinse required) and has been approved by the EPA for use against SARS-CoV-2 (the coronavirus responsible for COVID-19).  You only need to leave the area for about 20 minutes when we use our electrostatic sprayers for treatment.

This is really a matter of preference and what you are trying to accomplish.  We recommend shock treatments using Ozone no more than once a month.  For more frequent sanitizing and disinfecting, even up to daily treatments, we recommend our Electrostatic Sprayer with Vital Oxide Treatment.  Both Ozone Shock Treatments and Electrostatic Sprayer Treatments will deodorize your treatment area.

Vital Oxide is a powerful EPA registered hospital disinfectant cleaner, mold killer and super effective odor eliminator. It is also approved by the NSF as D2 Food contact sanitizer that does not even require a rinse.  It has been approved by the EPA for use against SARS-CoV-2 (the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 Disease). This powerful workhorse is kills viruses, bacteria, mold, odors and allergens all without any VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and is not irritating to the skin and is non-corrosive.

No, you and your pets and plants are safe to be in the area being treated with Electrostatic Sprayers with Vital Oxide.

Good Ozone, such as the Ozone produced in our generators leave behind Oxygen (O2) and should not be confused with Smog, which is sometimes mistakenly called Bad Ozone.  Smog is formed when oxygen combines with VOC (volatile organic compounds) and a chemical reaction occurs.

If Ozone is handled improperly, it can be harmful to your health.  Our techs are knowledgeable and trained for the proper setup, distribution, runtimes and dissipation times for Ozone.  Our Ozone Generators are high output generators made 100% in the United States and are rigorously tested for oxygen flow, ozone output and reliability. We will test the air based on OSHA guidelines for safe re-entry back into your dwelling.  When we treat using Vital Oxide, we use Electrostatic Sprayers that allow the solution to wrap completely around and under conductive surfaces as well as walls, ceilings and floors.  You would not be able to achieve this level of coverage without our technicians knowledge, training and using our Electrostatic Sprayers.

No. Neither Ozone or Vital Oxide are flammable.
